Could It Be Canine Cognitive Dysfunction?
Night pacing, staring at walls, getting stuck behind furniture, forgetting house-training: in senior dogs these are often written off as just getting old, when they can be signs of cognitive dysfunction, a recognized condition. We cannot cure it, but when it is caught early we have a much better chance of slowing its progression and improving quality of life. This screening covers the domains I assess in older patients and what to bring to your veterinarian.
This quiz is an educational tool, not a diagnosis. It can't replace an in-person examination, and results should be reviewed with your own veterinarian. If your pet is unwell, in pain, or showing aggression, please contact your veterinarian directly.
